Montese (841 mt) is an important summer resort in the Apennines near Modena. It is surrounded by greenery and provided with the most modern sports and recreational facilities such as: swimming-pool, riding school, tennis, bowls, skating, football and fishing.

In the middle of the "Percorso Belvedere", the route  which runs through the Parco regionale dei Sassi di Roccamalatina (Regional Park) and Corno alle Scale Regional Park. It is the ideal stop for excursions in the area.

The resort offers the opportunity to enjoy interesting walks through chestnut and oak woods, to visit monuments dating back to the medieval times and to discover the "Linea Gotica" (Gothic Line) defensive positions and bunkers of the World War II.

Important folkloristic events take place during the summer.
Every year in September/October very important fairs take place such as the potato and chestnut festivals.
